Description

Large cocoons of Rothschildia cincta cincta direct from habitat in Arizona, reared from eggs from multiple females mated to wild males. Non-inbred, F0 stock. Adults will emerge in June-August. Easy to mate, caterpillars are easy to rear under a variety of conditions on several different plants, fool-proof emergence, suitable for beginners. No complicated overwintering-- keep at cool room temperature and completely dry until June.

HOSTPLANTS: sumac (Rhus), tree of heaven (Ailanthus), privet (Ligustrum), cherry (Prunus), pepper tree (Schinus), Pistache (Pistacia), Castor bean (Ricinus), ash (Fraxinus), Chinese tallow tree or Florida aspen (Triadica (Sapium) sebifera), sandbar willow (Salix exigua), etc.
