Eggs are from pairings between sleeve-reared females and wild males.
Foodplants: cherry, apple, crabapple, plum, maple and willow are used by this species here. Other foodplants used in other areas of the country that may or may not work for this population include: birch, alder, dogwood. I use wild black cherry (Prunus serotina)
Cecropia Moth larvae are rather prone to fatal diseases, especially in the later instars. The larvae are larger and more likely to stay healthy when sleeved outdoors inside organza bags pulled over the end of a branch and secured with twine. Do not crowd the larvae, especially in the later instars.
Note: Eggs are sensitive to excessive heat: please do not supply an address that delivers to a mailbox in the sun. If the package is delayed by USPS, I will either re-ship or refund the order and shipping charges, because problems associated with shipping are always the responsibility of the seller. Never place food plant leaves in a closed container with eggs.
