Not difficult to rear in spacious, well-ventilated cages with fresh hostplant or sleeved out on living plants. Suitable for beginners with some experience at rearing. Trouble free hatching of eggs and easy overwintering for this single-brooded material.
HOSTPLANTS: sweetgum (Liquidambar), wild cherry & especially apricot foliage (Prunus), walnut, pecan, & hickory (Juglans & Carya), sumac (Rhus), Malosma, Pistache (Pistacia), pepper tree (Schinus), smoke tree (Cotinus), strawberry tree (Arbutus), manzanita (Arctostaphylos), Chinese tallow tree or candlenut (Triadica = Sapium), and many other plants
