Description
!VERY IMPORTANT PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION BEFORE PURCHASING!

This listing is offering live hatching eggs of the Samia ricini silk moth. The eggs come from observed pairing between healthy males and females. The price is $26 per 50 eggs.

I ship both within the EU and outside of the EU, the eggs ship from The Netherlands.

Samia ricini is an easy to rear domestic polyhybrid that is hardy and forgiving to beginners. They feed on Privet, Willow, Laural Cherry, Castor Bean, Liquidambar, Hawthorn, Rose, Citrus, and many more. Most common deciduous trees they will likely accept. Their silk, known as Eri Silk, is usable for making fabrics and clothing items. This bloodline has been going steady for years, and has little to no inbreeding, as fresh genetics are regularly introduced throughout the year to keep them healthy, these moths also have a high degree of Samia cynthia genes, giving them a large size, more vivid coloring and making them more active.

Caterpillars between L1-L3 can be raired in plastic containers if cleaned once a day at least, afterwards a netcage or large ventilated tub or terrarium is best suited. Caterpillars can stand heat and both drought and high humidity, provided they are properly ventilated.

Care instructions will be included with each order.
